Lauren Alaina is paying tribute to her beloved cousin, Holly.
In an emotional new Instagram post, the country music singer shared a poignant message about her cousin, who sadly died over the weekend. She was 41.

Alaina's Instagram post on Monday, July 21 featured a montage of videos from some of her favorite memories of Holly, who famously accompanied her to audition for American Idol back in 2011.
"If you followed my American Idol journey then you know Holly," the country songstress wrote in her caption. "Wherever Holly went I was always close behind. She is the sister I never had and my favorite person on this planet."

She continued, "Thank you so much for all the love and prayers. It truly means the world."
Alaina—who lost her father in July 2024—also asked her fans to keep her aunt and uncle, Holly's parents in their prayers.
"As a new mother, I cannot even fathom the pain of losing a child," added Alaina, who welcomed her first child, daughter Beni Doll, with husband Cam Arnold just last month.
"I love you forever, Holly," she wrote to her beloved cousin, while asking Holly to "Give my daddy a hug for me ?."
