Oleksandr Usyk is brilliant but beatable, especially for Daniel Dubois suggests Simon Jordan

Simon Jordan insists Oleksandr Usyk ‘isn’t Superman’ and can be beaten.

And he named Daniel Dubois, Usyk’s next foe, as the heavy-handed fighter who can become the first to do it.

Dubois and Usyk is a bumper clash that is dividing the opinion of the boxing public

The pair will meet for the undisputed heavyweight crown tomorrow night at Wembley Stadium.

Fans will attend in their thousands to see if ‘Dynamite’ can exact revenge on Usyk after his 2023 defeat.

Usyk has taken out all adversaries so far in his career including Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, and is considered the favourite to taste victory in London.

But for Dubois, a trio of destructive stoppage wins over Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Joshua have seen the boxing world marvel at his recent improvements,

talkSPORT host Jordan has been equally as impressed by Dubois and believes the current version of himself could well topple Usyk from his throne.

“I think he’s the best of this particular generation because he’s proven to be such,” he said of Usyk on his White and Jordan show on late last year.

“They can’t find a cure to him. They can’t find the antidote. He’s kryptonite to all of them. But I do think he’s beatable.

“I mean, we’re building him up to being this Superman. I do think he’s beatable.

“And I tell you what, as much as my tips are absolutely bloody useless; I wouldn’t be surprised given that Dubois is young and fresh and powerful [that he could beat him]

“Because I had a bet on both of those fighters. I put a bet on Fury at three to one, and I thought I’d go for the knockout.

“And I thought ‘I’m gonna hedge this and put it on Usyk’.

“As the fight starts I watched and thought ‘Why am I betting on a knockout?’

“Neither one of these guys is gonna knock one another out because they don’t have the power whereas someone like Dubois has the power.

“But listen, Usyk is brilliant. He’s absolutely world-class. He’s an ambassador. He’s an athlete of the highest order.”

Dubois proved no match for Usyk last time out, although he did drop his adversary with a shot in the fifth round, which divided fans.

Some claimed the punch, which floored Usyk for several minutes, was legal and should have been counted, while others insisted it had strayed low.

The referee determined it was an illegal blow, and so Usyk was given four minutes to recover before rebounding to stop Dubois in the ninth round with a stiff jab.

After the defeat, Dubois was branded a ‘quitter’ for seeing out the count on one knee.

The winner of their proposed clash will be crowned undisputed champion, the second in the division since 1999.

It would also see Dubois make history and become just the second Briton to hold all of the titles since Lennox Lewis.
