FOX Sports has reportedly closed in on a broadcasting deal with Dave Portnoy and his Barstool Sports company.
The deal would include Portnoy working on the network’s hit college football pregame show.
Fox is nearing a deal with Portnoy and Barstool Sports to have the founder appear on Big Noon Kickoff, per Front Office Sports.
The deal would also include Barstool content being shown on FS1, sources told the outlet.
The deal has yet to be finalized.
The outspoken personality Portnoy would join the star-filled cast of Urban Meyer, Matt Leinard, Brady Quinn, Mark Ingram, Chris “The Bear” Fallica, and host Rob Stone on Big Noon.
Pro Football Hall of Famer Charles Woodson also appears on the show occasionally.
The reported additions of Portnoy and Barstool’s content come after it was reported that FS1 cancelled three shows, Breakfast Ball, The Facility, and Speak.
FS1 also reportedly chose not to retain host Joy Taylor.
Barstool’s programming is expected to fill some of the lost FS1 airtime thanks to a licensing agreement, per FOS.
It’s not known which Barstool personalities, which include Dan “Big Cat” Katz and Eric Sollenberger, better known as “PFT Commenter,” will be included in the deal.
Katz and Sollenberger are the co-hosts of the hit sports podcast Pardon My Take.
