It took crews about a half-hour Tuesday to subdue a roof fire that damaged a Lake Murray area home.
The blaze erupted shortly after 4 p.m. in the 6400 block of Golfcrest Drive, south of Jackson Drive and east of Park Ridge Boulevard, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
Firefighters were able to confine the flames to the shake-shingle roof of the single-story house, SDFRD Capt. Jason Shanley said.
The American Red Cross was called in to help the two residents of the home arrange emergency shelter.
The cause of the non-injury fire was under investigation.
