Federal and state officials are searching for a then-teenage girl who disappeared from Aurora in 2016, according to the FBI.
Lashaya Stine was 16 when she left her Aurora home at about 2 a.m. on July 15, 2016, and disappeared, according to a news release from the federal agency. She would be 25 years old today.
Stine was last seen near East Montview Boulevard and Peoria Street in Aurora, north of East Colfax Avenue, federal officials said.
She had a job interview scheduled for the next day, but never arrived, according to the FBI. She hasn’t made any attempt to contact friends or family since she disappeared.
When she disappeared, Stine was described as a 5-foot-6-inch, 150-pound Black girl with long black hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a black shirt, black stonewash jeans, silver hoop earrings and a silver watch.
She also had a quarter-sized round scar on her chest, federal officials said.
