It's the dawn of a brand new BBC drama and this time round, Mix Tape is set to explore the magic of music as we focus on Daniel and Alison, who once had a blossoming teenage romance but now live on opposite sides of the world.
Reconnecting through a song from their past, they're soon catapulted to reckoning with the "what ifs" that have plagued them – but will they rekindle what they once had?
As hinted at within its title and synopsis, the four-parter is very much all about the power of music and so, naturally, there are a lot of toe-tapping hits that guide us through the episodes.
On the acquisition announcement of the series coming to the BBC, Sue Deeks, head of BBC Programme Acquisition, said: “Accompanied by an absolutely cracking '80s soundtrack, Mix Tape is an enjoyable blend of nostalgia, romance and heartbreak – it really is the perfect summer treat!”
