Carlos Alcaraz causes pandemonium just hours before Wimbledon final with Jannik Sinner

Carlos Alcaraz looked incredibly relaxed as he walked around the Wimbledon grounds getting ready for his third straight men’s singles final.

The two-time reigning champion is hoping to beat Jannik Sinner to win the title on Centre Court on Sunday.

Alcaraz was mobbed as he made his way to practice for the Wimbledon final

Alcaraz practised on one of the outside courts ahead of the 4pm start time, which has been moved from its usual 2pm slot.

It was safe to say it was pandemonium as he walked through the crowds to get to his court.

Hundreds of fans were screaming his name and holding out phones in an attempt to get a selfie.

The five-time Grand Slam winner was flanked by several security guards, who kept everyone at arm’s length.

The Spaniard was laughing and joking with several people in the crowd as he warmed up before his showdown with world number one Sinner.

He even traded tennis balls for posters fans had made to support him.

Alcaraz has every reason to be relaxed seeing as he is the two-time defending champion.

It will also be a repeat of the French Open final, where the Spaniard came back from two sets down to take the title.

“It’s going to be a great day, a great final. I’m just excited about it,” Alcaraz said.

“I just hope not to be five and a half hours again. But if I have to, I will.”

The two-time Wimbledon champion has only ever lost three games on grass in his career, and has won four titles.

One of those defeats came to Sinner back at Wimbledon in 2022.

However, Alcaraz admits that a lot has changed in the three years since that match.

“I remember that match, but it was three years ago,” Alcaraz added. “We are completely different players on grass, but on all surfaces.

“I’m pretty sure that it’s going to be different.”

Sinner ended Novak Djokovic’s attempts at winning a 25th Grand Slam title.

Djokovic and Alcaraz played out an all-time classic in 2024.

“We saw the last final – you never know [what will happen],” he said.

“Hopefully it’s going to be a good match like the last one, I don’t know if it can be better because I don’t think it’s possible.

“But we will do our best.”
