Lakewood law enforcement are investigating a suspicious death after a woman’s body was found in a house fire Friday night in the city’s Morse Park neighborhood.

West Metro Fire Rescue crews and Lakewood police responded to the 1700 block of Cody Street at 7:15 p.m. after several people called 911 about a fire at a duplex, the agencies said Saturday.

    Firefighters found heavy smoke coming out of the front room and a woman’s body when they entered the home.

    No other injuries were reported and investigators do not believe there is a danger to the public, officials said. The woman’s name will be released after her family is notified.
