During the ceremony, the town honored Lashara Evans, a former principal in Brighton schools and current assistant superintendent for HR in Penfield schools. The town supervisor praised her efforts to create welcoming school environments.
“Brighton is stronger because of our diversity. Brighton is a great community for everyone to call home,” said Bill Moehle, the Brighton town supervisor. And to recognize that with pride not just today not just this month but 12 months of the year – diversity, equity, and inclusion is part of who we are,” the town supervisor said.”
