Puri: In a major security breach at the Shree Jagannath Temple, four youths allegedly entered the temple premises by scaling the Meghanada Pacheri, the outer boundary wall.
The intruders used a large garbage mound near the southern wall to access the 12th-century shrine, bypassing stringent security measures, as per reports.
A viral video of the incident has prompted the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) to form a probe committee comprising Srimandir Development Administrator, Security Administrator and a sanitation supervisor.
The committee has been directed to submit its report urgently.
The incident has sparked widespread concern and anger among devotees, particularly as it took place despite enhanced security measures for the annual Rath Yatra and Niladri Bije rituals.
