— PFL (@PFLMMA) July 6, 2025Jeff Brady died at age 51 near his home in Arizona on Saturday.
He was trying to save two young boys aged 10 and 12 from drowning in a river.
The incident took place near Hidden Shores Resort in Yuma, Arizona.
Yuma County Sheriff’s Office said, “two juveniles were pulled off the shallows by the current.”
A male then “swam out to the juveniles and kept them above water” until a vessel went out.
The vessel “was able to remove the juveniles from the waterway,” the police added.
Their report continued, “It was reported the male was struggling to stay afloat, and was observed going underwater and did not resurface.
“Dive team members from the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, Border Patrol, and Yuma Police Department responded to assist with the underwater search.
“At 7:20 PM, the male subject was located and pronounced deceased on scene.”
The male was identified as Jeffrey Brady and an investigation is ongoing.
A GoFundMe page was set up on behalf of Jeff’s twin brother Greg.
UFC boss White gave $10,000 to the cause while the PFL made a $20,000 donation.
The PFL said in a statement, “Professional Fighters League honors the memory, and loss, of longtime teammate, Jeff Brady.

The GoFundMe page said, “Jeff Brady made the ultimate sacrifice when he gave his life to save two young boys, ages 10 and 12, from drowning in the river.
“Jeff didn’t hesitate, he saw children in danger and acted without a second thought.
“That’s just who he was…. a protector, a provider, and a selfless hero.
“Living with him were the two people who meant the world to him, Elen, the love of his life, and his 84-year-old blind father.
“Elen had left her job in San Diego to become the full-time caregiver for Jeff’s father, dedicating her days to love and service.”
His twin brother Greg shared an emotional message on Instagram hours after Jeff died.
He wrote, “There are no words to describe the pain of losing someone who has been a part of me since the beginning.
“We shared everything…. laughter, struggles, dreams, and memories I’ll hold onto forever.
“My heart is broken, but I am also incredibly proud of the man he was and the hero he’ll always be remembered as.
“If you knew him, honor him by living with the same courage and kindness he showed every day.
“Heaven gained a Viking Angel.”
