HICKORY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Police are searching for a man accused of fatally shooting a woman inside a Hickory motel.
Hickory Police responded to a report of an unresponsive woman inside a room at the Deluxe Inn on Highway 70 SW around 6:41 p.m. on July 4.
The victim, identified as Mary Elizabeth Ervin, 30, of Hickory, was found dead inside the room from an apparent gunshot wound.
During the investigation, detectives identified James David Houser, 30, as a possible suspect in Ervin's death. Investigators have issued a murder warrant for Houser and are currently searching for him.
