American star Taylor Fritz’s third round encounter at Wimbledon was delayed on two separate occasions.
The first incident occurred early in the second set when Fritz was on serve with a 2-1 lead over Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina having won the first set 6-4.
Pictures showed officials gathered around a fan, who was believed to have been taken ill, with an umbrella to protect them from the sun.
The fan was also given water as the chair umpire communicated to Wimbledon officials regarding the ongoing situation.
Over four-and-a-half minutes had elapsed between play being stopped and the resumption of the match after the spectator was taken out of Centre Court.
However, it wasn’t long before the match was stopped for a second time and in the exact same game.
But it wasn’t to do with another fan falling ill.
Instead, it was to deal with a medical issue.
Fritz put his body on the line in an attempt to get to the ball but re-opened a cut on his right elbow in the process.
The American sustained the injury in his second-round victory over Gabriel Diallo and required a medical timeout to fix it.
Fritz required medical attention once more as blood dripped from his arm, although he was quickly patched up and back out on the court to continue.
He eventually held serve to complete a mammoth 18-minute game and take a 3-1 lead over the Spaniard.

Carlos Alcaraz’s gritty five-set victory over Fabio Fognini in the opening round was suspended for 15 minutes due to an unwell fan in the crowd.
The incident took place in the fourth game of the fifth set when Alcaraz held a 3-0 lead as stewards and medics were seen tending to the fan.
