BUFFALO, N.Y. — Maxwell Hairston, the Buffalo Bills’ first-round draft pick, has been accused of sexual assault in a lawsuit.
The lawsuit was filed in the Eastern District of Kentucky against Hairston, a cornerback and University of Kentucky product who the Bills selected during the NFL draft in April.
In the lawsuit, a woman accuses Hairston of non-consensual sexual contact in her dorm on campus in 2021. The lawsuit says the woman reported it to law enforcement. Hairston was not criminally charged.
Bills General Manager Brandon Beane addressed the allegations during the draft in April, saying teams were aware of a Title IX investigation. That’s the process where an educational institution investigates claims of sex-based misconduct.
