AFTER being forced to exit Sunday NFL Countdown for the final months of the 2024 season, Randy Moss is expected to return full-time for the 2025 season.
Moss took a hiatus from the ESPN show after receiving a cancer diagnosis.
Moss returned for the Super Bowl last season alongside Rex Ryan, Tedy Bruschi, Alex Smith, and Mike Greenburg.
“Randy’s return on Super Bowl Sunday was an emotional lift — not just for our team but for the entire football community — and knowing he will resume his full Sunday NFL Countdown schedule, beginning in Week 1, has been the highlight of the offseason,” ESPN said in a statement to The Athletic.
During a December episode of Sunday NFL Countdown, Moss revealed to viewers that he was “battling something internally” and it would require him to wear glasses while on the show.
This came after fans noticed his eyes looked to be visibly yellowing.
“I just wanted to let the viewers know that me and my wife, me and my family, we are battling something internally,” he said.
“You know, I have some great doctors around me. I couldn’t miss the show. I wanted to be here with you guys. I feel great.
“But if y’all see me with these Michigan turnover glasses that I have on, it’s not being disrespectful because I’m on television, man.
“I’m battling something. I need all the prayer warriors.”
He later shared another message about his health before stepping away from the show.
“I just ask for all the prayer warriors to put their blessing hands on me and my family through these hard times. People were talking about my eyes last week,” Moss said.
“I’m battling something, man, and it’s something internal. Your boy is going to get through it.
“I got a great team of doctors and got a great family around me.”
Moss went on to reveal his cancer diagnosis in an Instagram live video.
He said he spent six days in a Charlotte-area hospital following surgery to treat cancer found in the bile duct between the pancreas and liver.
