LOTTERY officials are hunting for a winning $1.1 million ticket that is yet to be claimed, and the ticket was bought from a liquor store.
The Lucky Day Lotto game has been open for nearly a full year, meaning that very soon the winner will lose their chance to grab their fortune.
Chiefs in the Illinois Lottery are currently on the exhaustive hunt for another mystery ticket holder.
Per the rules, players have one year from the day the winning numbers were drawn.
In this game, the numbers were drawn on August 9, 2024, and the ticket was bought at a liquor store in Chicago.
Lottery officials urge players to check their tickets, because it is not long until the game is closed.
The Lucky Day Lotto has two other active games right now with the Illinois Lottery with unclaimed jackpots.
One is worth $300,000, and the numbers were drawn on May 14, 2025.
This slip was bought in Evanston, and gives the player a longer time to come forward than the August ticket.
The third and final Lucky Day Lotto still open is a $200,000 game with the ticket bought in Chicago.
These winning numbers were drawn on June 4, 2025, less than a month ago.
This gives the player roughly 11 months for them to come forward and claim.

The next game with the closest deadline can be found in the Powerball.

The U.S. Sun spoke exclusively with professor of mathematics at Davidson College, Tim Chartier, who revealed the truth behind lucky numbers.
Scooping up a jackpot prize in a lottery game such as Powerball or Mega Millions involves correctly guessing a series of numbers.
Many players swear by certain numbers, sticking with digits such as birthdays, anniversaries, or ages – but do these numbers statistically carry the luck that players believe they do?
According to Chartier, they do.
“I think a number is lucky if you have fun playing it and it improves your experience of winning,” he said.
“The big lotteries are, statistically speaking, a chance to dream of being a multi-millionaire or even billionaire. If playing a certain number heightens that experience, then yes!”
However, the lottery expert clarified that aside from the feel-good implications of playing your “lucky numbers,” no number is truly lucky when it comes to the lottery.
“All numbers are equally likely,” said Chartier.
He explained that even though all numbers are equally likely, some may seem to appear more often.
For example, rolling a six-sided die six times does not guarantee that you will roll each number exactly once.
Also in the Powerball, a game worth $150,000 was only drawn a few days ago.
The winner bought the ticket in Carpentersville on June 25, so there’s plenty of time still left to claim.
Although, given how much money is at stake, the player is still advised to come forward as quickly as possible.
The only other game active right now is in the Pick 4, worth $125,000.
The game was drawn on May 29, and was bought in Chicago.
The ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven, and if the player doesn’t know how to claim, returning to the specific store where they bought it would be a good start.
