98-year-old actor William Daniels, best known for his role as everyone's favorite teacher Mr. Feeny on the beloved sitcom Boy Meets World, has been married to his wife, Bonnie Bartlett Daniels, for 74 years.
While speaking to People magazine in celebration of their wedding anniversary on June 30, Bonnie, who is 94, shared that she and her husband no longer go on dates. She said, however, that she and Daniels have a deep understanding with each other, despite having limited communication.
"No, no, no, no, no. No, we're just here," said Bonnie, who played Grace Snider Edwards on The Little House on the Prairie, to the publication. "It's like we don't have to communicate almost. We just know what to do. And when one person is upset, the other person sort of kind of calms down and we help each other in that way."
In addition, Bonnie, who also appeared on St. Elsewhere and The Waltons, shared she and her husband helped each other work as professional actors.
"I know what he's going through if we go to a shoot or something like that. He has always helped me with acting problems. He would go to see me doing a play, and he'd say something that would just help me get through the whole thing and be better. And I did that for him," said Bonnie. "We'd rehearse at home and get through a rehearsal problem. And we just have always done things together like that."
In addition, Bonnie said she and Williams, who share three children, are "happy with each other."
"We're happy with our family and with our life, so we're very lucky," said Bonnie.
Her husband agreed with her, stating, "Yes."
Bonnie discussed her marriage to William in her 2023 memoir Middle of the Rainbow, wherein she revealed they had an open relationship when they first got married. Entertainment Tonight reported that Bonnie told her readers that while the situation was painful at times, they never wanted to leave each other. She also revealed that she and her husband stopped seeing other people after a relationship he had in the 1970s.
While speaking to Entertainment Tonight in October 2022, alongside his wife, William expressed his gratitude for Bonnie.
"I can't imagine being with anyone else but her," said the Knight Rider actor.
Bonnie also shared her secret to a successful marriage. According to the actress, couples need to respect, genuinely "like each other," and "let each other live their own life" to remain married.
