There aren’t a lot of new movies on Peacock during the final weekend of June. But that’s to be expected since new titles will arrive on July 1.
In the meantime, the Watch With Us team has browsed Peacock’s film lineup to find something suitable to close out the month.
One of our picks for underrated Peacock movies you need to watch this weekend is The Woman in the Yard, a horror film released earlier this year.
But since that one may be a little too much for some movie lovers, our other choices for the weekend are a rom-com with a legendary pairing and a comedy that’s aged well over the last three decades.

‘The Woman in the Yard’ (2025)
Most ghosts tend to creep in the shadows and lie in wait until night. The apparition at the heart of The Woman in the Yard is particularly brazen because she appears to the whole family in broad daylight in front of their home. This enigmatic black-clad woman (Okwui Okpokwasili) even speaks when they come close, and the family doesn’t initially believe there’s anything supernatural about her.
However, the woman is no mere specter, and she has hidden ties to Ramona (Danielle Deadwyler), the widowed mother living in the house with her children. Ramona’s son, Taylor (Peyton Jackson), is so frustrated by the situation that he wants to get rid of the woman himself. But this is a battle that only Ramona can face, if she dares.

‘Runaway Bride’ (1999)
Runaway Bride is the reunion of Pretty Woman stars Julia Roberts and Richard Gere with director Garry Marshall. While it doesn’t recapture the full charm of the earlier movie, Roberts and Gere still make a great pair together. Roberts plays Margaret “Maggie” Carpenter, a woman who is known as the runaway bride because she’s left three jilted men at the altar, and everyone thinks she’ll do the same to her fourth partner, Bob Kelly (Christopher Meloni).

Gere portrays Ike Graham, a reporter who comes to town to get the real story on Maggie’s failed wedding attempts. In the process, he and Maggie start to feel romantically drawn to each other. That’s a problem considering that she’s still engaged to Bob, and her fear of commitment could ruin her bond with Ike as well.

‘The Commitments’ (1991)
The Commitments is a cult classic comedy that led to two best-selling soundtrack albums from the fictional band. They really are that good, and this Irish band in this film was the dream of Jimmy Rabbitte (Robert Arkins), a working-class man who doesn’t have any musical talent of his own. That’s why he takes on the managerial role and brings the band together.
While Jimmy has a good ear for talent, the mixture of personalities quickly proves to be volatile. Lead singer Deco Cuffe (Andrew Strong) has an out-of-control ego, and trumpet player Joey “The Lips” Fagan (Johnny Murphy) has already seduced the women in the band. At this rate, Jimmy may not be able to hold The Commitments together long enough for them to live up to their potential.
The Commitments is streaming on Peacock.
