After having a remarkable IPL 2025 season with the Gujarat Titans, it seems that things are not going well with Sai Sudharsan. On the back of his 750+ runs in the IPL 2025, Sai Sudharsan was handed the maiden Test call-up for the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in England.
Sudharsan was handed the debut cap in the five-match Test series opener, but he failed to carry forward his stunning form and had a forgettable debut, scoring a duck and 30 runs during India’s five-wicket loss to England at Headingley in Leeds.
And now, the young Indian batter is in doubt for the second Test match against England, starting on July 2 in Birmingham. As reported by Revsportz journalist, Sai Sudharsan is not completely fit and remains doubtful for selection for the second Test between India and England.

Sai Sudharsan reportedly experienced discomfort in his shoulder during the final day of fielding at Headingley. While the injury doesn’t appear to be major, the Indian cricket team management is closely monitoring the batter’s condition. An official update on his availability is expected soon.

In the first innings, Sai Sudharsan fell into a well-laid trap by England captain Ben Stokes. With clever field placements that included a leg slip and a leg gully, Stokes executed a sharp plan targeting the pads to create doubt in the Indian debutant’s mind.
Sai looked cautious from the start, clearly aware of the fielders behind. But on the fourth ball, he couldn’t resist a gentle glance off his pads, only to get a faint edge straight into the gloves of the wicket-keeper Jamie Smith, who took a clean catch, sending him back for a duck on debut.

In the second innings, Sudharsan showed improvement, but just when he was settling in and looking confident, Ben Stokes pulled off another classic. Stokes tempted Sudharsan into a flick with a full and inswinging delivery on the stumps, and the youngster did exactly what the England captain wanted.
Instead of keeping it down, the shot flew low and straight into the hands of Zak Crawley at mid-wicket. Sudharsan, who had looked solid with 30 off 48 balls and four boundaries, walked off visibly disappointed. On his debut, Sai was perished to Stokes in both innings.

Notably, England pulled off a stunning run chase of 371 runs at Headingley, writing a new chapter in their Test cricket history. It was England’s second-most successful chase ever in Test matches and the second-highest run chase ever recorded against India.
Additionally, this was the third successful chase of over 350 runs at Headingley, making it the venue with the most 350+ chases in Test history.
