The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Dolores Catania is defending Teresa Giudice after she hung up in the middle of a live TV interview.
“I think that she was so taken back because when we speak to people — literally a news station — we’re not expecting that from them,” Catania, 54, explained on the Monday, June 23, episode of iHeartRadio’s “Two T’s in a Pod” podcast. “I would never expect that. We don’t expect that from anyone. I was taken back, and I think that she was so taken aback [that] she wasn’t ready.”
While appearing on Chicago’s WGN Morning News on Friday, June 20, Giudice was asked by host Larry Potash about her legal troubles.
“Okay, I’m hanging up,” she announced. “Let’s just hang up. That’s it.”

Potash later joked that his guest clearly “didn’t like that question.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge also saw the viral TV moment. When weighing in on Giudice’s response, the podcast host said she would have kept her answer short and sweet.
I would have just said, ‘For me personally, since you brought it up, yeah, it’s a situation we’re dealing with. End of story,’” Judge, 57, explained.

Catania, however, argued that not many people would have expected to field such a sudden, serious question in the midst of a morning news show.
“He threw her off and it was nasty,” she said. “[Teresa] walked off once before. … Teresa does not like somebody to try to make a fool out of her. She knows when that’s happening. … That was rude. I felt bad for her. Just so you know, for whatever it’s worth, Larry, I’ll never come on that show.”
Judge also agreed that she doesn’t have any interest in going on the show either.
“I will say this,” she shared. “If you are taking your time to go on somebody’s podcast or an interview, you’re not expecting to get attacked.”

In a clip posted via X on Monday, June 23, Potash briefly discussed the interview and had some advice for Giudice’s team.

“For her PR person,” he said, “instead of trying to tell us what we can’t ask, why don’t you teach her what to say when someone does ask that question.”
In true Real Housewives fashion, however, not every viewer has the same reaction to what is seen on TV.
“Everyone’s siding with Teresa,” Catania claimed. “So once again, she lands on her feet. People felt bad for her, I did! Now, she learns something from that.”
