Remember the von Trapp Children? Four ‘Sound of Music’ Stars Reunited in Salzburg

Several of the former child stars who rose to fame in The Sound of Music just reunited in Salzburg, and they look great!

The iconic 1965 movie musical, which starred Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer as Maria and Captain von Trapp, went down in history as a classic that continues to be replayed in homes across the world. But decades later, four of the actors who portrayed the von Trapp children in the beloved movie returned to Salzburg, the stunning Austrian city where the musical was filmed. Check out the video below, which shows Nicholas Hammond, Kym Karath, Duane Chase, and Debbie Turner journeying around Salzburg together. (As a reminder, they played Friedrich, Gretl, Kurt, and Marta von Trapp!)

“62 years after filming The Sound of Music in Salzburg, Nicholas Hammond, Kym Karath, Duane Chase, and Debbie Turner returned to the city that became such an iconic part of the film,” Visit Salzburg shared. “During their visit, we captured this special reunion at Schloss Leopoldskron, with the Leopoldskroner Weiher and Untersberg as the backdrop. ?️✨.”

    Julie Andrews Just Turned 91

Last week, legendary actress Julie Andrews turned 91. The star is still coveted for endless roles, and the team behind The Princess Diaries has made it very clear that they would love her to return for the film’s third installment if she’s willing. Unfortunately, Andrews has made it clear she’s not willing at the moment.

“First of all, I just want to say if she has a change of heart, we’re down,” star Anne Hathaway told Entertainment Tonight back in August. “But we also want to be respectful. For goodness sakes, if anybody has contributed to the world of entertainment and to our collective joy, it’s her.”

The beloved 2001 film featured Hathaway in her breakout role as a teen who discovers she is Princess of Genovia. Andrews played her grandmother, Clarisse Renaldi, the Queen regnant of Genovia.
