The Evans Area Chamber of Commerce will host an ice cream social Tuesday to celebrate the opening of its new office.
The event begins at 4 p.m. at the Riverside Library and Cultural Center, 3700 Golden St., Evans. All who are interested are welcome to attend for free ice cream and to learn more about the chamber.
The Evans Area Chamber of Commerce has relocated to the Riverside Library and Cultural Center, where the city has arranged for the chamber to rent a space. Established in 1984, the chamber is a small nonprofit comprised of local businesses and professionals focused on supporting and advocating for local customers in the Evans and Greeley areas.
The chamber, which serves 194 members, relocated to make way for the new Evans police station. City officials project the station will be completed by early 2027, which will put the city in debt by an estimated $25 million to $30 million.
“It’s beautiful and much more modern than our old location,” Executive Director of the Evans Area Chamber of Commerce Leslie Turnage said. “I would love for all members of the community to come by and see the library and all the new faces we have at the chamber.”
