Jay Johnson has finalized his lineup for Game 1 of the College World Series as LSU baseball takes on Coastal Carolina.
As expected, ace Kade Anderson will be on the mound for LSU to open things up. His counterpart from Coastal Carolina will be Cameron Flukey as the Chanticleers have opted to save ace Jacob Morrison for Game 2.
There are only minor changes with this lineup compared to LSU’s last time out against Arkansas in the semifinals. Jake Brown did not start against the Razorbacks in that game but has been inserted into the 4-hole for this contest and will play in right field. He steps into the lineup for Josh Pearson, who will begin this game on the bench.
Brown has been one of LSU’s best hitters this season, but took a seat against lefty Landon Beidelschies vs. Arkansas. Now that a righty will be on the mound, Johnson has put Brown back into the starting lineup.
Catcher Luis Hernandez moves from the cleanup spot to the No. 6 spot in the order. Here’s a look at LSU’s full lineup for this contest:

Coastal Carolina won it all in its only other trip to Omaha way back in 2016. The Chanticleers beat LSU in the Baton Rouge Super Regional back in 2016 en route to the title, so the Tigers have a chance at some revenge in this series.
