Cuttack: Sanjaya Kumar Sahoo, retired Sub-Divisional Small Savings Officer, Office of the Collectorate, Cuttack, was convicted today by Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack, in a bribery case.
Sahoo, charged under Sections 13(2) read with 13(1)(d) and 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, was found guilty of demanding and accepting a bribe for issuing a postal agency license.
The court sentenced Sahoo to three years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine.
Following the conviction, Odisha Vigilance announced plans to request the competent authority to stop Sahoo’s pension.
