ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Golisano Institute for Business and Entrepreneurship has brought together sports industry leaders across all levels for a Sports Symposium.
Topics like career defining decisions, team management, brand partnerships, and other behind the scenes business strategies all play a part in running this $1.5T global sports industry. This marked the start of the Golisano Institutes “Business of Sports” series.
Former NFL Quarterback, Tim Tebow, was present Wednesday and was part of a panel of professionals who shared their career journeys and lessons that led to their future success.
“For so many of these students they’re going to take on big challenges and next steps and when you do have setbacks, it doesn’t just mean it’s a rejection,” said Tebow. “More importantly, it could be a redirection of something that’s more important for you to do.”
The “Business of Sports” series will continue on October 1, where the General Manager for the St. Bonaventure men’s basketball team, Adrian Wojnarowski, will talk about the economic landscape in college sports.
