SENECA, N.Y. – County Road 5 at the intersection with Leet Road in the Town of Seneca is closed due to a crash involving a farm tractor and tractor trailer Tuesday morning.
According to Ontario County Sheriff Deputies, their investigation found that Ryan Szalay was driving a semi-truck towing a box trailer behind Elias Ortiz-Diaz, who was driving a farm tractor.
Deputies say Szalay tried to pass Ortiz-Diaz while he was making a left turn onto Leet Road when Szalay hit Ortiz-Diaz, causing both the semi-truck and tractor to overturn onto its driver’s side.
Szalay suffered injuries to his left arm and was brought to Strong Memorial Hospital. He was also issued a traffic citation for unsafe passing.
Deputies say the road will be closed for a few hours.
