THE King, Queen, Kate and Wills are leading the royals at Order of the Garter ceremony today – as disgraced Andy misses the bash for the sixth year running.
The ceremony at St George’s Chapel celebrates a 700-year-old chivalric order.
Andrew has been part of the order since 2006 but not been in the public procession since 2019 – shortly before his car crash Newsnight interview.
Both 2020 and 2021 were cancelled due to Covid and in 2022 he was abruptly banned from appearing in public just hours before.
In recent years he had attended private aspects of the ceremony including an investiture and reception.
The royals and other members of the garter – which is the oldest chivalric order in the UK dating back 700 years and based on the Knights of the Round Table – walk from Windsor Castle to the ceremony.
Afterwards, they will catch carriages back up the hill for private meetings.
Hundreds of revellers are camping up in the castle grounds for the event.
Other members of the Order include the likes of Tony Blair, King Juan Carlos I of Spain, and former MI5 chief Baroness Manningham-Butler.
