“You know the biggest sentiment I’ve heard is that people are excited, because this festival started as a really small festival at a park on the other side of town,” Tim Smith, MLK Commission Chair, said.
Smith said the event has grown significantly over the years, drawing several thousand attendees.
“We’ll have several thousand people that’ll come through here today, and have already come through here today. And we’re really excited about this year,” he said.
This year’s theme was “Maintaining Infinite Hope,” which honors the ongoing pursuit of justice and unity.
