College World Series: Schedule, TV info, starters for opening day in Omaha (June 13)

The action gets underway in Omaha on Friday. At long last, the College World Series has arrived.

Eight teams are left standing in college baseball as the hunt for a national championship reaches its final stage. Only 5 national seeds made it through to the CWS, and Arkansas was the only top-5 national seed to advance. For the first time since 1957, no team that made the field a year ago returns.

    Coastal Carolina puts its 23-game win streak on the line against Arizona to begin the CWS on Friday. Oregon State battles Louisville later in the day. Below, you can find each team’s projected starters and TV information for both Friday games.

    Men’s College World Series TV schedule

    Game 1: 13 Coastal Carolina vs. Arizona — 2 p.m. ET, ESPN Game 2: 8 Oregon State vs. Louisville — 7 p.m. ET, ESPN

    Coastal Carolina vs. Arizona

    Coastal Carolina is a 1.5-run favorite over Arizona at BetMGM. The over/under for the game is set at 8.5.

    The Chanticleers (53-11) are making just their second appearance at the CWS and their first since winning the title in 2016. They knocked off Auburn in the Super Regional to advance. The Wildcats (44-19) are making their 18th all-time appearance in the College World Series and their first since 2021.

    Right-handed pitcher Riley Eikhoff is projected to start on the bump for Coastal Carolina. He is 6-2 in 15 starts this season with an ERA of 2.90. Eikhoff has 63 strikeouts against 10 walks in 80.2 innings of work. He gave up 5 hits and 0 earned runs in his last outing while striking out 5 batters in 7.1 innings against East Carolina on June 1.

    Right-handed pitcher Owen Kramkowski will start for Arizona. He is 9-6 on the season with a 5.48 ERA. In 17 starts and 87 innings pitched, Kramkowski has 83 strikeouts and 17 walks. Opponents are batting .299 against him. His last outing was a rough one; North Carolina got to him early and ended his day after 1.1 innings, 6 hits, and 8 earned runs.

    Oregon State vs. Louisville

    The Beavers are a 1.5-run favorite over the Cardinals at BetMGM. The over/under is set at 9.5.

    Oregon State (47-14-1) is back in the CWS for the first time since winning it all in 2018. The Beavs defeated Florida State in the Supers to advance to their eighth all-time CWS. Louisville (40-22) is making its first appearance at the CWS since 2019. The Cards beat Miami in the Super Regional round to advance.

    Right-handed pitcher Dax Whitney will start for Oregon State. Whitney is 6-3 on the season with an ERA of 3.66. He has made 16 starts and pitched 71.1 innings while striking out 111 batters and walking 36. Opponents are batting .221 against him this year.

    Right-handed pitcher Patrick Forbes will draw the start for Louisville. Forbes is 4-2 in 14 starts this season. He has 107 strikeouts and 33 walks with an ERA of 4.36 in 66 innings of work. He is allowing opponents to hit just .210 against him.
