ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Law enforcement agencies across the state increased patrols as part of Speed Awareness Week, which runs through June 15. Officials said speeding is responsible for more than 30% of all deadly crashes in New York.
Last year, 329 people were killed and more than 2,300 suffered serious injuries in speed-related crashes.
Speeding fines range from $45 to $600.
