THE CEO of Chrysler has provided an update on one of their most eagerly anticipated models.
The US car marque, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, is seemingly in the midst of a transition.
Currently, the Stellantis-owned brand is limited to minivans – partly due to a lack of investment for the last two decades.
While the launch of a crossover vehicle has been on the cards for some time, it appears that is now set for 2027, while the Pacifica minivan is due for a refresh early next year.
However, most eyes are on the supposed upcoming release “inspired by” the futuristic-looking Halcyon concept car, unveiled early last year.
Their CEO, Chris Feuell, has yet to offer a date for the much-hyped car’s arrival, but it’s hinted it would be an answer to those who want to see a return of the discontinued 300 sedan.
Previously, Feuell suggested that a car with “a beautiful design that has seamlessly integrated technology and an interior space that’s really clever and versatile” could reignite enthusiasm among Chrysler fans.
As reported by USA Today, Feuell said: “I believe the car segment is ripe for growth and resurgence.”
She described a “high level of confidence in our road map and ability to launch these products.”
Indeed, plans for Chrysler’s entire portfolio to go all electric have been scrapped in favor of “multienergy” options – with the aforementioned crossover to launch as a hybrid with the capability to go electric.
“The question about Chrysler’s future and viability is one that seems to come up in various news articles on a weekly basis,” Feuell said.
“That has not come up once in my conversations with Antonio [Filosa, the newly named Stellantis CEO] or others in the leadership team.
“I understand the curiosity regarding: Can a company really sustain 14 brands?
“It’s a lot of mouths to feed, and that is true, but for Chrysler there is a belief in our positioning strategy.”
Prior to this announcement, the Stellantis-owned brand – widely considered one of the “Big Three” in the American automotive industry alongside Ford and General Motors – was facing an uncertain future.
In January, it was revealed that development of Chrysler’s next car, a sleek crossover named the Airflow, had been paused.
The Airflow, which was expected to become the flagship model in Chrysler’s all-electric lineup by 2028, first appeared as a concept three years ago.
It showcased a low-set, sleek design with rounded lines and tall wheel arches.
However, Chrysler has been slow to bring the Airflow to market, and by 2023, reports suggested that its design and nameplate had been scrapped.
In what has been a challenging 12 months for the brand, it was also reported that Chrysler was forced to sell off its massive test track located in the middle of the desert in a desperate bid to cut costs.
How To Pump Gas
There are several steps you can take to safely pump gas.
Find Your Pump
Drive up to a pump, aligning your car’s fuel tank with the nozzle. Look for the fuel indicator arrow on your dashboard or the manual to know which side your gas tank is on.
Pay for Your Gas
You can either pay at the pump with a credit/debit card or pay inside. If paying inside, give the attendant your pump number and the amount you want to spend.
Open Your Fuel Lid
Use the lever or button inside your car to open the gas tank lid, or open it manually if your car doesn’t have a lever. Unscrew the gas cap.
Pick the Right Nozzle
Grab the correct nozzle from the pump (regular, premium, or diesel). Insert it securely into your gas tank.
Select Fuel Grade
Choose the fuel grade (usually regular, mid-grade, or premium). Check your car’s manual for the recommended fuel type.
Start Pumping
Pull the trigger to begin pumping. Most nozzles have a lever that locks in place so you don’t have to hold it.
Wait for Automatic Shutoff
Keep an eye on the pump. It will automatically stop when your tank is full. You’ll hear a click when this happens.
Remove the Nozzle and Close the Tank
Carefully remove the nozzle, return it to the pump, and make sure the gas cap is tightly secured.
Get Your Receipt
If you paid at the pump, decide if you want a receipt. If you do, print it; if not, finish the transaction.
Reset Your Odometer
Inside your car, reset the fuel odometer to track your mileage. Usually, turning your car back on will reset it.
