Sydney Sweeney is weighing in on the strong reactions to her Dr. Squatch bathwater soap.
The Euphoria star, 27, teamed up with the men’s personal care company to launch the limited-edition soap Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss, each bar of which contains some of her own bathwater. The product has sparked controversy online, with some fans criticizing the soap’s hygiene and others calling the collaboration degrading to the actress.
Sweeney, however, is backing her latest business deal. “I think that it’s more fun to see everybody else talk about it,” she told E! News when asked about the soap at the New York City premiere of her new movie Echo Valley on Wednesday, June 4.
As for who came up with the idea, Sweeney told the outlet, “I pitched it.”

In an interview with People at the film’s premiere, a reporter pointed out that the soap may motivate some men to take showers. “I mean, honestly though,” Sweeney quipped in response.
On Dr. Squatch’s website, Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss is described as a “perfect combination of the two best places on the planet: The outdoors and Sydney Sweeney’s bathtub.” The soap features scents of “pine, Douglas fir [and] earthy moss,” plus “a touch of Sydney’s very own bathwater.”
The soap serves as a follow-up to an ad Sweeney did for Dr. Squatch’s Natural Body Wash back in 2024. In the ad, Sweeney encouraged “dirty little boys” to use the body wash to help them feel like men.

A very real, very limited-edition soap made with my actual bathwater. Available on 6/6/25 at drsquatch.com .”
Over the years, Sweeney has been candid about dealing with other people’s discussions about her body. “People feel connected and free to be able to speak about me in whatever way they want, because they believe that I’ve signed my life away,” she told Variety in March 2024. “That I’m not on a human level anymore, because I’m an actor. That these characters are for everybody else, but then me as Sydney is not for me anymore. It’s this weird relationship that people have with me that I have no control or say over. “
Redefining Beauty: Stars Paving the Way for a New Era of Self-Confidence
Last month, Sweeney told The Times of London that “a woman’s body is beyond empowering and beautiful and sexy and all the things,” adding, “I think that one day I will be able to have control of the narrative of my body. I’ll take the power.”
Sweeney’s bathwater soap drama comes over two months after Us Weekly confirmed she and her fiancé, Jonathan Davino, called it quits after seven years together. “I’m learning a lot about myself [and] spending more time with my friends,” Sweeney said while breaking her silence on the breakup in her interview with The Times of London.
Confirming her single status, Sweeney added, “I’m loving it.”
