"At one stage I was going to bed thinking 'I think I could actually do this - I think I could get rid of my second toe', but then the medical staff said you need it for balance so that was quickly ruled out," Carse stated on BBC.
"I try not to mention the toe in the changing room any more because people are sick of it. It is a bit of a running joke in the changing room, my second toe."
Due to the injury, Carse also missed out on his maiden call-up in the IPL as Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him, but he couldn’t join the franchise due to the toe injury. The England speedster made his return after the injury in the three-match ODI series against the West Indies that the Three Lions won.

Brydon Carse made some changes to recover rapidly as he switched to narrower boots and also used a custom insole after seeing his injury. Carse also cut a hole in his shoes to land better while bowling and to relieve the pressure.
England's pacer was also on multiple courses of antibiotics, but his wound was so deep that it took more time to heal and close up the wound. Carse took six to eight weeks to heal properly, but after the recovery, rest proved as one of the best remedies for his injury.
"For a period of about six to eight weeks, I was on three or four different courses of antibiotics. Eventually the wound was that deep that it ultimately needed a period of time just to heal up and close up. Fingers crossed everything we've done over the last six to eight weeks seems to be working."

Carse made his return to the game after injust against West Indies in a three-match ODI series. England clean-swept the Caribbean by 3-0. Carse picked up only four wickets in three matches against the West Indies.
Carse’s economy was also above 6, and he also didn’t contribute any runs in the two matches, where he got the opportunity to bat.
