A 24-year-old driver was killed and two passengers were injured after their vehicle crashed into the backend of an unoccupied forklift near downtown early Wednesday morning.
The crash took place at around 2:05 a.m. Wednesday, when a 2023 Ford F-150 driving southbound ran through road blocks on 1200 Harbor Dr., at the intersection of Park Blvd., the San Diego Police Department said.
Police officials said the driver collided with a parked forklift in the Harbor Dr. No. 1 lane. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two passengers were taken to local hospitals for minor injuries, police said. The names of the driver and passengers were not immediately available.
It was unclear what prompted the accident, but police were investigating.
