A motorcyclist was gravely injured on Wednesday morning in a solo crash in the Midway area, the San Diego Police Department said.
The 30-year-old woman was riding southbound on the 4100 block of Pacific Highway shortly before 6 a.m. when she lost control of her 2000 Harley-Davidson Sportster for unknown reasons.
Paramedics took her to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries, including a brain bleed that required surgery.
Traffic was briefly rerouted to give first responders an opportunity to get to the woman.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.
