Leicester City are facing a points deduction having been charged with fresh breaches of the Premier League and EFL’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
The Premier League has referred Leicester to an independent commission over three separate breaches in the 2023-24 season.
These are breaching the Championship’s PSR rules in 2023-24, not providing its annual accounts to the Premier League and not giving the top flight “full, complete and prompt assistance” in their investigation.
Any potential points deduction could apply in the Championship after Ruud van Nistelrooy’s club were relegated this season.
In a statement, Leicester said: “Consistent with its previous commitments, the Club intends to engage cooperatively in this matter now that the Premier League’s jurisdiction has been established for the period ending FY24.
“However, we will not be able to comment further on these proceedings until they are concluded, due to their confidential nature.”
