The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is again asking for the public’s help solving the shooting death of a man whose body was found dumped in an irrigation ditch in 2012.
Joseph Peters, 41, had been in the Denver and Brighton areas and was trying to start a medical marijuana business at the time of his disappearance, deputies wrote in a social media post Friday.
Employees of the Farmers Reservoir and Irrigation Company found Peters’ body wrapped in a tarp near Interstate 76 and Weld County Road 12.5 on May 16, 2012.
An autopsy found he died after he was shot in the head.
