Jajpur: Odisha Vigilance has arrested Asit Kumar Patra, Additional Block Development Officer (ABDO) of Dharmasala Block in Jajpur district, for allegedly amassing disproportionate assets.
The arrest follows simultaneous raids conducted by Vigilance officials at multiple properties linked to Patra, which revealed a staggering accumulation of wealth.
The raids uncovered three multi-storey buildings, a flat in Cuttack, a shopping complex, five high-value plots, approximately 700 grams of gold, bank deposits worth over ₹65 lakh, and ₹1.85 lakh in cash.
Patra failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the source of these assets.
A case (Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No. 11/2025) has been registered against Patra. The investigation is underway, vigilance stated.
