One person died in and two others were evacuated from a Brighton house fire Sunday afternoon, fire officials said.
Brighton Fire Rescue crews responded to a residential fire in the 12000 block of East 132nd Avenue at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the agency.
When they arrived, crews found two people had evacuated from the home, which had already filled with heavy smoke, fire officials said in the release. A third occupant was missing.
Firefighters searched the house, pulled a woman out and initiated CPR outside the home, agency officials said. She later died from her injuries.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Brighton Fire Rescue officials said Adams County Fire Rescue, the Brighton Police Department and the Adams County Sheriff’s Office also responded to assist with the fire.
