(KRON) – A multi-vehicle collision on the Bay Bridge left one person dead on Friday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Golden Gate division of CHP was alerted to a multi-vehicle car crash on Interstate 80 on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge at 11:17 p.m.
Per CHP, a white Genesis sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed, not aware of the slower traffic ahead. The driver of the Genesis failed to slow down, which resulted in the sedan hitting the rear of a silver Toyota Corolla.
Two other vehicles were hit in the rear as a result of the collision, according to CHP.
