The Arizona Cardinals released tight end Bernhard Seikovits and offensive lineman Matthew Jones on Tuesday.
The moves come two days after the conclusion of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Arizona’s roster now sits at 90 players following the releases.
Bernhard Seikovits’ Cardinals tenure
From Austria, Seikovits joined Arizona’s ranks in 2021 through the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program.
He’s contributed on the Cardinals’ practice squad ever since and has yet to appear in a regular season game.
“It’s tough, obviously, because you sacrifice a lot to be here,” Seikovits told the Cardinals Corner podcast last offseason. “(I) sacrificed so much and obviously deep inside, you know that you can do it just as well as anybody else. And so you want to get the opportunity and stuff like that. But you also know that it’s a journey, and it’s a road you have to kind of be patient on. So that’s it’s a back and forth in my head.
“It’s been a ride. It’s been a journey. I’m trying to do the best I can. And that’s really all I can do. So that whenever the opportunity comes, I’m ready.”
This offseason, he signed a futures deal with the franchise.
Seikovits’ release comes after the team signed fellow Austrian and UConn offensive tackle Valetin Senn to an undrafted free agent deal.
Like Seikovits, Senn qualifies for the IPPP exemption.
Matthew Jones released by Cardinals
Jones originally jumped on board with Arizona last December as a practice squad addition.
He was later signed to a futures deal this offseason.
Before his time with the Cardinals, Jones signed on with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2024.
