A 51-year-old man died early Saturday after his vehicle hit a concrete barrier off Pomerado Road in Poway, sheriff’s officials said.
At approximately 12:56 a.m., deputies from Poway Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a collision involving a solo vehicle that occurred at Pomerado and Kaitz Street.
Medics took the driver by ambulance to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Authorities did not release his identity.
Poway Station traffic investigators and the Medical Examiner’s Office are assigned to the case. It is not known yet if alcohol or drugs played a role in the fatal crash.
