Moonlight Stage Productions launches its 44th season with Grease, running from April 30 through May 17.
Grease is a tribute to the idealism of the 1950s and a cheeky satire of the timeless teenage urge to rebel. At the center of the story is the romance between slick, hot-rodding Danny Zuko and sweet newcomer Sandy Dumbroski.
After a whirlwind summer romance, the two are unexpectedly reunited at Rydell High, where peer pressure and high school cliques complicate their chances at love. Can Danny keep his cool image and still win over the innocent Sandy?
Set to a soundtrack inspired by legends like Buddy Holly, Little Richard, and Elvis Presley, Grease delivers hits like “Greased Lightnin’,” “We Go Together,” and “Hopelessly Devoted to You.”
The musical became a cultural phenomenon with an eight-year Broadway run and continues to be one of the most produced shows worldwide.
“Our 44th season is going to be a historic one, with three regional premieres, and we’re very excited to open it with Grease. For this production, Nikki Snelson is bringing a fresh new perspective to this family with new choreography and dance styles.
