(KRON) – More than two hundred bottles of promethazine were found in a car, according to the San Pablo Police Department.
Recently, San Pablo police officers pulled over a dark-colored sedan and discovered multiple boxes of prescription-only promethazine hydrochloride oral solution. In total, San Pablo PD said the car had 240 bottles of promethazine. In images provided by the department, the bust occurred near a Walgreens.
Police confirmed the driver was not a pharmacist and was arrested and booked into the county jail.
Promethazine, according to the National Library of Medicine, is a medication used to manage and treat allergic conditions, nausea and vomiting, motion sickness, and sedation. The drug can be used as a recreational drug, which is called “lean.”
San Pablo PD said on its social media, “This kind of ‘lean’ will get you pulled over and locked up.”
