An Alpine man who agreed to sell fentanyl to an undercover federal agent was sentenced Friday to six years in prison.
Erik David Morgan, 44, was arrested after agreeing to meet up with a drug buyer who turned out to be an undercover agent with Homeland Security Investigations.
When Morgan arrived at the agreed-upon location in El Cajon on March 14, 2024, he was arrested. The U.S. Attorney’s Office said he had just over 10 grams of fentanyl on him at the time and had agreed to sell the undercover agent 3.5 grams for $150.
El Cajon police assisted in the investigation. Morgan pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and had faced a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
