The Montreal Canadiens appear to be bringing in one of their top prospects for the remainder of the season.
Forward Ivan Demidov will join the Canadiens now that his season with SKA St. Petersburg in the KHL has come to an end, SKA announced Tuesday.
The Canadiens are now working on signing Demidov to an entry-level contract, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports.
Demidov, 19, was the fifth overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. He would be eligible to play games with the Canadiens once a contract is completed.
