San Diego County Credit Union is helping folks maintain financial security and overall wellness through its support of America Saves Week, April 7 to 11.
This year’s theme is “Saving for Your Past, Present and Future.” On Wednesday, April 9, SDCCU will present educational webinars focused on saving at various stages of life as part of Financial Wellness Wednesdays.
“SDCCU is pleased to present savings-focused webinars and resources in celebration of America Saves Week,” said Teresa Campbell, SDCCU president and CEO. “Saving is an integral part of reaching financial goals and building financial security. Creating consistent savings habits as part of your overall financial plan will help you on the path to your desired financial future.”
According to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, nearly a quarter of consumers (24%) have no savings set aside for emergencies. Just 37% of respondents reported having at least a month’s worth of income in emergency savings, but experts suggest keeping at least three to six months’ worth of living expenses in your emergency fund to plan for unexpected expenses or loss of income.
These webinars focus on building and protecting your savings and are part of Financial Wellness Wednesdays, an ongoing program hosted by SDCCU to help the community access free financial wellness information.
