Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka was a delighted man after his team secured their second win in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. To give his captain Rishabh Pant a short break from cricket, Goenka took him to enjoy the Indian Super League (ISL) semi-final match.
They were spotted enjoying Mohun Bagan’s match, as the football franchise is also owned by the Goenkas. Mohun Bagan was playing against Jamshedpur FC in the ISL semi-final, which they won 2-0 to advance to the final.

Goenka engaged in a conversation with Pant after Lucknow’s opening loss to Delhi Capitals in a last-over thriller, which had sparked comparisons to the KL Rahul episode. During the exchange, Goenka was seen gesturing emphatically and pointing his finger at Pant on a few occasions. However, after the last win, he looks all good and happy.
Goenka might have also taken Pant for a break to talk about his form and help him relax a bit, especially if he’s feeling the pressure of being the highest-paid player in IPL auction history.
Pant’s stats in IPL
Pant has scored just 19 runs in four innings in IPL 2025. He currently averages 4.75 in the tournament, despite being bought for INR 27 crore.
