Drew Pyne ended up at Mizzou in 2024, backing up starting QB Brady Cook. It was his third school, following his stops at Notre Dame (2020-22) and Arizona State (2023).
Pyne will be remembered at Missouri for his performance against Oklahoma on Saturday, Nov. 9, while Cook was out with an injury. Pyne attempted 27 passes, completing 14 of them for 143 yards. He also threw for 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions while guiding the Tigers to an impressive 30-23 victory.
After the season, Pyne entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal. And now, it appears he’s made his decision on where he’ll play for the 2025 season. He has 2 years of eligibility left and will use at least the next one at Bowling Green in the MAC, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel:
NEWS: Former Missouri quarterback Drew Pyne is transferring to Bowling Green, he told ESPN. Pyne started his career and Notre Dame (2020-22), transferred to Arizona State (2023) before playing at Missouri last year. — Pete Thamel (@PeteThamel) April 7, 2025In an interesting twist, Pyne will be replacing another former Mizzou QB as the Bowling Green starter. Connor Bazelak, who was with the Tigers from 2019 to 2021, was Bowling Green’s starter the past 2 years.
