New local band The Beautiful People Club stopped by Live & Local this week, following the release of their debut album “Can You Dig It?”

The Beautiful People Club is comprised of three stalwarts of the Triangle’s music scene: Glenn Jones, Jason Barker, and David Shore.
“Jason and I had been playing in a couple of other formulations for about three and a half years,” says Jones of the band’s origin. “I think June will be two years (together)…and it’s just really gratifying to finally have it all click in place with a band.”
The trio is celebrating “Can You Dig It?” with an album release show at The ArtsCenter in Carrboro. The show will be Sunday, April 6, at 4:00 p.m. with Harvey Dalton Arnold opening. (If you miss that one, the band also has a show Saturday, May 3, at 9 p.m. at the Speakeasy on Main Street.)
